"David Sibbald, the third brother of Sir James Sibbald, bart, of Rankeilour, was keeper of the great seal of Scotland, under the Earl of Kinnoul, who was appointed lord high chancellor in 1622. He was father of the celebrated Sir Robert Sibbald, knight, M. D., author of the history of Fife, and of various other valuable works."
