General Notes: '2065- Rev. Alexander. 1746, Apr. 17, Chaplain to the French troops, was a prisoner at Inverness (Scots Mag., vol. 16, p. 211), dying about three weeks after (Catholic, Directory, 1853)." Of the Glencat family" (Catholic Directory, 1853) ; apparently the Alexander "de Glencat," who was son of John, of Barrack, and his wife Joanna; entered Douai, 1718, Oct. 18 (Forbes-Leith's Scots Colleges, i. 70); entered the mission in Scotland, 1734 (ibid.), serving at Glengairn, "with great zeal and activity" (Catholic Directory, 1853).' |
