"James Sibbald of Kair and Mondynes, second son of David S. of Kair; promoted from being regent in King's College, Aberdeen, 1595; was a member of Assembly in 1602 and 1638; died before 16th March 1649, when a commission was given by Parliament to Sir Robert Graham of Morphie, who had obtained the lands of Kair, to distribute the price among his children. He marr. Isabel Gordon, and had issue: Donald; James, probably min. of Torryburn; Robert; John; a daugh. (marr. Robert Douglas); Jean (marr. James Melvill, min. of this parish); a daugh. (marr. James Pedie)."

"Mr James Sibbald and Isobell Garden, whose father was son to Banchory Garden, Mr James Sibbald, who was Laird of Kair and Mondynes and also Parson of Benholm, was son to David Sibbald of Kair

The forsaid Mr James Sibbald who was parson of Benholm was only second son to David, for Alexander was the eldest, and he being a man of not so good management sold the Estate of Kair to Mr James with the superiority of Mondyns. Mr James had of sons by Isobel Garden Mr David, Mr James, Robert and John and three daughters"
