"The ninth laird (James Leslie of Kininvie) married a daughter of Stewart of Lesmurdie, by whom he had three sons and three daughters. The first and third sons both succeeded. The first, who sold Buchromb in 1795, had an only daughter, and the second died unmarried in 1839, in which year the estates came to the son of their eldest sister, Jean, by Robert Young, factor and commissioner to Sir A. Grant of Monymusk. This son, who was a solicitor in Banff, and took a leading part in the afiairs of the county, married a daughter of James Donaldson of Kinairdy in Marnoch,"
