HURRIE, William of Pitfichie ²

Another name for William was HURRY, Unknown of Pitfichie.¹

  General Notes:

"On 20th January 1590, William Hurrie of Pitfichie, along with Gordon of Knockespock and others of lesser degree, swooped down on the lands of Forneidlie, belonging to Duncan Forbes, broke down the houses of two of his tenants, maltreated their wives, and actually sought to burn alive their babies 'lyand in thair creddillis.' "

from Pitfichie Castle webpage ²

William married Agnes LESLIE, daughter of Alexander LESLIE 3rd of Wardis and Margaret FORBES.¹ (Agnes LESLIE was born about 1542.)

  Marriage Notes:

"Agnes (Leslie), married first to Hurry of Pitfichie...."

from Family of Leslie

Note:

Family of Leslie lists Agnes as the daughter of the 3rd Baron of Wardis and his wife Margaret Forbes, but the dates do fit well for her being the daughter of the 1st Baron of Wardis, also named Alexander Leslie. ¹
