"James (Lumsden) succeeded to the estates on the death of his grandfather in 1548 ('Inquisition,' dated 26th February,1549, and sasine following in it, as well as charter of Mary's,1 dated 18th August, 1547, with the Great Seal attached, in the Cushnie charter chest). He married Christian Leith, and died in 1550, being succeeded by his only son."
