Henry had been a coal miner according to the marriage certificate of his daughter Mary in 1872 and according to her death certificate of 1930. He was deceased before her first marriage. In her second marriage certificate of 1885 he was recorded as a 'coal miner deceased'. ^{1 2}

Henry married Alice McGURK. (Alice McGURK was born about 1825 and died between 27 May 1872 and 13 November 1885 ^{1 2}.)
