When Mary McAlinden died in 1932 she was recorded in her death certificate as the widow of Hugh McAlinden, quarryman.
Hugh McLinden was recorded as a "Quarryman (deceased)" in the 1935 marriage certificate of his daughter Catherine. 2 4
Hugh married Mary VALLELY, daughter of Thomas VALLELY and Catharine QUIN, on 11 July 1895 in RC Chapel, Cleland, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 (Mary VALLELY was born on 3 March 1865 in Shotts parish, Lanarkshire, Scotland and died 20 June 1932 at 8.45 am in 80 Biggar Road, Cleland, Lanarkshire, Scotland.). The cause of her death was pharyngitis over 6 days, hyperpyrexia and disordrered action of the heart over 24 hours.
