  Medical Notes:

J. McFarlane MB ChB certified the causes of death.

The informant was the son of the deceased, Patrick, of 72/A Lauchope Street, Chapelhall. He notified the registrar, James Paterson, at Holytown on 27 November 1936.

Because the death was a sudden death, a precognition was carried out on behalf of the Procurator Fiscal's Office. The results were published in the Register of Corrected Entries, Volume 6 Page 14. This confirmed the details in the original death certificate.

Ellen married James McGUNNIGAL, son of Patrick McGUNNIGAL and Mary Anne FOX, on 15 November 1900 in Chapelhall, Holytown district, Bothwell parish, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 (James McGUNNIGAL was born on 13 November 1874 in Chapelhall, Holytown district, Bothwell parish, Lanarkshire, Scotland and died 1 May 1930 at 7.30 am in 72/A Lauchope Street, Chapelhall, Lanarkshire, Scotland 5.). The cause of his death was chronic interstitial nephritis over 6 months and uraemia for 13 days.

  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was celebrated, after banns, according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The priest who married James and Ellen was Father William Carmichael. The witnesses were Charles Sweeney and Agnes Shields.

James McGunnigal was a blastfurnaceman, a bachelor, aged 26 years, of 15 Front Row, Clyde Iron Works, Old Monkland. His mother was deceased.

Ellen Donnelly was 24 years old, and unmarried. She lived at Co-operative Buildings, Chapelhall. No occupation was noted for her. Her father, John Donnelly, was living, but her mother, Maria McLean, was deceased.
