Peter Hearty, son in law to the deceased woman who had been present where her death took place, gave notice of Deborah's death before the registrar, Duncan Campbell, at Lesmahagow on 15 January 1872.

Peter married Helen MUNN, daughter of John MUNN and Deborah BROOKS, on 29 April 1864 in Avondale, Lanarkshire, Scotland. (Helen MUNN was born in 1836.)
