Helen married Alexander THOMSON of Portlethen, Advocate, son of Alexander THOMSON of Cults, Advocate, Sheriff Depute of Aberdeen and Elspeit HAY, in April 1690.1 (Alexander THOMSON of Portlethen, Advocate was baptised on 5 February 1657 in Saint Nicholas parish, Aberdeen, Scotland 2 and died on 25 November 1727 1.)

Married, first, in April, 1690, Helen (died at Aberdeen, 7th September, 1711), eldest dau. of James Gregory, Professor of Mathematics, St. Andrews, subsequently in Edinburgh, with issue :

2. Robert, succeeded his father as Town Clerk (portrait by-John Alexander, painted 1729, at Birsmohr Lodge, Aboyne); died 29th April, 1767, aged 63.
