Robert married Margaret MILLAR, daughter of William MILLAR and Elizabeth JAMIE, on 8 June 1860 in Titchfield Street, Galston, Ayrshire, Scotland. (Margaret MILLAR was born on 14 June 1834 in Loudoun, Ayrshire, Scotland and was baptised on 29 June 1834 in Loudoun, Ayrshire, Scotland.)


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage took place after banns according to the forms of the Established Church of Scotland. The minister was Robert Stirling. The witnesses were William Beggs and James Hood.

Robert Brown, who made his X mark, was an unmarried man aged 20 years. He was a cotton weaver and gave his address as Gauchland, Galston. Robert's mother was deceased and his father was still living.

Margaret Miller, who also made her X mark, was aged 25 years and unmarried. She was a cotton darner and lived at Titchfield Street Galston. Both of her parents were living.

The marriage was registered at Galston on 9 June 1860, William Bell being the registrar.
