An 'Abram Neer' was recorded in the 1880 US Census as a boarder alongside William Neer and Benjamin F. Neer, possibly his brothers, at Deer Island, Columbia County, Oregon in house numbered 249 by the enumerator. He was aged 38 and had been born in Pennsylvania. He worked as a teamster and his marital status was 'S' for single. Both of his parents had been born in Germany. 2
