Sibyl married Sir William SINCLAIR of Herdmanston, son of John SINCLAIR of Herdmanston and Margaret SINCLAIR, 26 February 1566(contract).1 (Sir William SINCLAIR of Herdmanston was born about 1542 and died on 2 June 1594 1.)

"He (Sir William St Clair) married (contract dated 26 February 1566) Sibyl, daughter of John Cockburn of Ormiston, Secretary of State : she had a charter in liferent, on his resignation, of the lands of Cotdykes, Mains of Pencaitland and others, 24 April 1569, and of the lands of Carfrae in liferent 23 March 1580. She survived him, and married, secondly, John Cockburn of Clerkington. He had issue"
