Hugh Quigley, a police officer, aged 29 years, was recorded along with other inmates and patients in the Town Hospital in Paisley Middle Parish by the 1841 census. 4


Hugh married Jane QUIGLY, daughter of James QUIGLY and Mary Magdalane DUNCAN, on 14 October 1839 in St Mirin's RC Chapel, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland. (Jane QUIGLY was born in 1814 in Scotland but not Lanarkshire 5 and died after 6 June 1841 5.)
