DRUMMOND, Margaret 1
Margaret married John GORDON of Pitlurg, Botary and Langar, son of John GORDON of Botary, Langar and later of Pitlurg and Margaret FORBES. (John GORDON of Pitlurg, Botary and Langar was born about 1472.) Marriage Notes: "His son John Gordon second Laird of Pitlurge married the Earl o Athols daughter Stuart, with whom he begat a son John Gordon third Laird of Pittlurg; likewise he begat on a Gentlewoman Maitland two natural sons and two daughters viz. William Gordon of Belchirrie and George Gordon of Kindrught ; one daughter married the goodman of New Forbes, another married Menzies Provost of Aberdeen. Their Father the forsaid John Gordon 2d Laird of Pittlurg was killed at the battle of Pinkie anno 1547. [He married secondly Margaret Drummond. It was his son who fell at Pinkie.] " |
