  Marriage Notes:

"Janet (Forbes), who married (1) William Forbes of Corsindae"

from House of Forbes

Note:

House of Forbes states

1 - on page 394

Alexander, the 6th Laird, succeeded his father shortly after the granting of the above charter. His wife was Alison Anderson, daughter of the Lord Provost of Edinburgh. He had two sons and two daughters :-
William, his heir; John of Bandley, whence the family of Culloden. (See p. 403.) Janet, who married (1) William Forbes of Corsindae, (2) William Forbes of Fodderbirse."

and

2 - on page 395

"William Forbes, the 7th Laird, had one daughter, Janet, married to William Forbes of Corsindae"

The chronology is more consistent with Janet being daughter of the 6th laird, Alexander Forbes. 1

Janet next married William FORBES of Fodderbirse, son of William FORBES 7th Lord Forbes and Elizabeth KEITH co-heiress of Inverugie.1 (William FORBES of Fodderbirse was born 2 March 1543(1544) 2.)

  Marriage Notes:

""Janet (Forbes), who married (1) William Forbes of Corsindae, (2) William Forbes of Fodderbirse."

from House of Forbes

"William of Fodderbirse and Logy Fintray, born 2 March 1543-44, married Marjory (see Note below), eldest daughter and co-heiress of Janet, daughter of Alexander Forbes of Tolquhoun, and relict of William Forbes of Corsindae, by whom he had issue. By a second marriage he had a son James, who married a daughter of William Forbes of Corsindae. William Forbes of Fodderbirse is mentioned amongst the members of his clan who were, in 1573, exempted by the Lords of Council and Session from the jurisdiction of the Earl of Huntly. He is also mentioned in the same cause in 1578."

from Scots Peerage (vol 4)

Note:

There is disagreement (above) about the name of the wife of William Forbes of Fodderbirse,
House of Forbes favouring Janet.

It may be that either there was a simple error in the record or that Janet was also called Marjory, or , thirdly, that there was a daughter Marjory who did not survive to marry and Janet replaced her.
