"John Forbes of Pitnacaddel, second son of William, 7th Laird of Tolquhon, married a daughter of Hay of Burnthill, by whom he had four sons and several daughters :
(1 ) John, his heir. (2) Alexander of Pitblae (or Pitblaen), who married and had issue : Jean, married Alex. Crawfurd of Rathen ; Magdalen, married William Ogston in Auchinachie; and Elizabeth. On December 7th, 1688, these three daughters were served heirs to their uncle, William of Tombeg, in an annual rent of £200 out of the lands of Aberdour. (3) William in Tombeg (see p. 411), and (4) George, Lieut.-Colonel, o.s.p."
