A relative of mine Richard Lawrie/Lowrie born 1773 left the Haddington area aged about 20 and joined the Navy and went to Portsmouth, He had two siblings Robert born 1771 and Janet 1776. Their parents, John Lawrie and Mary Lawder/Lauder were married in Haddington on 7 October 1770. I am trying to trace the ancestors of John, possibly born 1740 in Haddington, and Mary possibly born in Haddington 2 October 1737 so that I can pursue my research into the family- further back and down to the current day. I believe Robert married Isabel Aitchison from Leith at Haddington in 1800. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Madeline"
