"July 1772 Muoat Alexander and Elisabath Anderson had a Son born 19th July 1772 and Baptised 26th Ditto called George Witnesses George Anderson and Thomas Muoat.
The 1841 census for Haddington recorded George Muat living in Sidegate Close in Haddington. He was in the 70-74 years age range. In the same household lived Hamilton Muat aged 60-64 years, Matthew and Mary Barrie, both aged 30-34 years, and a child aged 1 year, John Barrie.
