"William Leslie (9th) of Balquhain entered into a contract with Alexander Leslie of Pitcaple, whereby, in respect of the said Alexander having become cautioner for the said William Leslie to James Dempster of Auchterless for 600 merks, the said William Leslie obliged himself to infeft the said Alexander Leslie in the lands of Pitbee for his security; 18th September 1565."
