From other sources, it appears that this Andrew Gray of Muirtown has been confused with Andrew Gray of Cluny (ID G390, second son of Andrew 1st Lord Gray), and that Alexander Gray, merchant in Aberdeen, who purchased Schivas from William Gordon of Gight in 1512, and said to have been the son of Andrew Gray of Cluny in Scots Peerage, volume four, was actually the son of Andrew Gray of Muirtown. 1
