General Notes: "Gordon Alexander married Janet CUMING, daughter of George CUMMING younger, Chamberlain of Huntly and Unknown, 23 September 1721(contract).1 2 (Janet CUMING was born about 1700.) Marriage Notes: "Gordon, Alexander, of Craigwillie, near Huntly. Must have been of mature age in the '45, and the Duchess of Gordon seems to have been interested in his liberation. He and Robert Grant of Tamore had married sisters, the daughters of George Cumming of Reclettich (Mortlach). He survived the Rising." |
