User ID: G606. General Notes: "Whitehouse - This family descends from James, younger brother of Colonel Donald Farquharson (Donald Og), a distinguished soldier in the Civil Wars. The eldest son of the above James signs the Bond of 1664 as 'younger of Whitehouse,' and dying without issue, was succeeded by his brother, Henry. One of the family, Captain Henry Farquharson, fell at Culloden, a handsome gallant youth, one of the many of the flower of Highland families who fought and died for Prince Charlie. The portrait of his son and successor, Dr. William Farquharson, is given, and the line continued direct until 1896, when it terminated on the death, without issue, of Andrew Farquharson. Mr. Farquharson had been a member of the Bombay House founded by Sir Charles Forbes, and on his retirement in 1840, received a very complimentary address from upwards of three hundred of the most influential Parsee merchants of Bombay. By his settlements the estate of Whitehouse was left to his great nephew, George." James married Daughter HAY.1 (Daughter HAY was born about 1610.) Marriage Notes: "Farquharson, James, of Whitehouse.
