  Marriage Notes:

No marriage has been found for Alexander Proctor and the name of his wife is unknown. In the baptism records of his children the surname Dow is predominant, and that may have been the surname of his in-laws.

The number and birth range of his children may mean that he had two wives, and/or his wife or wives were younger than he was.

There are families of William Dow and John Dow in Aberlour who may be related.

There are also Proctors/Procters in Edinvillie in Aberlour parish, but know of these are witnesses at the baptisms of Alexander's children, which suggests, possibly, that while he may be related to them through his father, he was not necessarily an immediate relative. 4
