Marriage Notes: "He married Eleonora, sister of tlie first Earl of Douglas, and was created Earl of Carrick shortly before his death, which occurred at the battle of Halidon Hill in 1333.- His widow married, secondly, James Sandilands of Calder ; thirdly, William Towers of Dairy ; fourthly, before October 1573, Sir Duncan Wallace of Sundrum, and fifthly,Sir Patrick Hepburn of Hailes.
