Thomas was a witness on the 14th and 15th January 1585 according to Bamff Charters AD 1232-1703.

This extract from volume 5 of Fasti Ecclesiae for the parish of Carmylie may refer to this man. He is the first entry after the description:

"CARMYLIE.
[A chapel of St Mary was built at Carmylie in or about 1510. The parish of Carmylie was disjoined from Panbride, St Vigeans, and Inverkeilor, and was erected by Act of Parliament on 24th June 1609. At Both, within the bounds, stood a chapel of St Laurence. There was a Well of Our Lady at Milton of Carmylie.]

THOMAS STRACHAN, chaplain ; died before 1609."
