"John, who is referred to on 25 August 1306, when Malise, Earl of Strathern and others bound themselves to produce him to the English King. In 1316 he is styled Sir John, and he and his brother the Earl agree to serve with the English Warden on the Scottish marches. Nothing further has been discovered regarding him, unless he was the John of Atholl who, in 1331, made a complaint as to the abduction of his wife Matilda."
