"FRANCIS ABERCROMBY, the eldest son, born 1654, married Anne, suo jure Baroness Sempill, and was on 6 July 1685 created LORD GLASFOORD for the natural term of his life only. By a charter of 16 May 1688 not only the estates but the title of Sempill were confirmed ' to the longest liver of them in liferent,' but after the death of his wife in 1695 he appears to have been known only as Lord Glasfoord."

His widow was buried at Whiteparish, Wilts, with her first husband. Her will was proved February 1710-11."
