Maria married Sir Nicholas DE GRAHAM of Dalkeith, Abercorn and Eskdale, son of Sir Henry (III) DE GRAHAM of Dalkeith and Unknown, before 1269.1 2 (Sir Nicholas DE GRAHAM of Dalkeith, Abercorn and Eskdale was born about 1245 and died soon after 1303 1.) Marriage Notes: "He (Sir Nicholas) married, before 1269, Maria, younger daughter of Malise, Earl of Strathearn, by his wife Marjory de Muschamp, co-heiress of the barony of Muschamp (including Wooler, Belford, and Lowick) in Northumberland. By the death of her sister Muriel, Countess of Mar, in 1291 s.p. she became vested in the whole of her mother's moiety of the barony. On 14 June 1306, as widow of Sir Nicholas, she did homage to King Edward upon his restoration of her seisin of the half-barony of Muschamp, and she died between 1314 and 1318." |
