Marriage Notes: "RELATIONSHIP Annabella next married Sir David WEMYSS of that Ilk, Ambassador to Norway, son of Sir Michael WEMYSS of that Ilk and Unknown, about 1296.2 (Sir David WEMYSS of that Ilk, Ambassador to Norway was born about 1245 and died about 1331(1332) 2.) Marriage Notes: "Sir David Wemyss of Wemyss, who succeeded, first appears on record between 1290 and 1296, when he granted to Annabella Sinclair, widow of Sir Robert Bisset, certain lands in the barony of Lochore, including rights over Balbedie, Capildray, Strathruddie, co. Fife ; Ardargie, in Perthshire, Wester Dron ; and the half of 'Eglisdikin,' in the earldom of Menteith. In another writ Sir David styles himself lord of the half lands of Sir David Lochore, late lord of Lochore. This seems to imply that his mother was an heiress of that family .... He married, or was betrothed to, Annabella Sinclair named above, to whom he granted the charter of the Lochore lands, to her and his children by her." |
