"Here lies the remains of ANNE, Countess of Aberdeen, relict of William, Earl of Aberdeen, and daughter of Alexander, Duke of Gordon, obiit 26th June a.d. 1791, aetatis suae 78, and also her son, The Honourable ALEXANDER GORDON, Lord Rockville, obiit 13 March 1792. aetatis sui 53, also his daughter, CATHERINE GORDON, wife of Robert Hepburne, Esquire, of Clarkington, who died 2nd April 1832, aged 53 years ; also ROBERT HEPBURNE, Esquire, of Clarkington, who died 5th August 1846, aged 80 years" ²

Robert married Catherine GORDON, daughter of Alexander GORDON Lord Rockville, Lord of Session and Anne DUFF, in 1800.¹ (Catherine GORDON was born about 1779,² died on 2 April 1832 ² and was buried in St Cuthbert's cemetery, Edinburgh, Scotland ².)
