from Births and Baptisms
GRO Old Parish Registers Index records Susan Murray as the mother of Alexander baptised in Methlick in 1738, and William Gordon, Earl of Aberdeen, as father, but in the text of the record itself only the father's name is. The GRO index must be in error since William Gordon married his third wife, Anne Gordon, in 1729. Susanna Murray had died in 1725.
