ST NICHOLAS AND OLD MACHAR

Catherine Jamieson is recorded as having been baptised in 1807 in St Nicholas parish. Old Machar adjoins this parish to the north and west of St Nicholas. Both were city parishes. It may be she was born in Old Machar and baptised in St Nicholas, or she may have been confused about which it was.

Catharine married James STRACHEN, son of James STRACHEN 'Drumnagarrow' and Ann McKENZIE, on 29 May 1830 in Saint Nicholas parish, Aberdeen, Scotland.1 2 (James STRACHEN was baptised on 30 September 1807 in Glenbucket parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland 4 7 and died 5 June 1894 at 1.25 pm in 43 Gilcomston Park, Aberdeen, Scotland.). The cause of his death was bronchitis over 14 days.
