Maggie Donnelly was living with her family in Windyedge Farm, in the village of Cleland, Lanarkshire, when she was recorded by the census of 1901. She was the eldest of six children. She had been born in Shotts parish, and was 11 years old. She was a scholar.

Maggie Donnelly or Devine lived to a 'ripe old age' according to one of her nephews. 1 2


Maggie married Philip DEVINE, son of Philip DEVINE and Agnes WARD, on 29 January 1915 in RC Chapel, Cleland, Lanarkshire, Scotland. (Philip DEVINE was born in 1889.)


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was celebrated after banns, according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church.

Philip Devine, of 1 Monkland Street, Partick, was a shipwright. He was 25 years old. His mother was deceased.

Margaret Donnelly was also 25 years old. She lived at Chapel Street, Cleland, and was a domestic servant.
