"The session being met and constitute, Sedt. Minr & Elders, compeared Jas. Sclanders and Ann Stewart, sua sponte, and acknowledged they had been irregularly married, produced lines dated Edinr. 4th. March 1778 acknowledged other as Husband and Wife, were desired to join hands, and so were declared married persons, were rebuked, exhorted, and so dismissed." 4
