General Notes: According to the death certificate of John's son, Edward, in 1873, John was by occupation a 'customer weaver'. He was deceased by then. John married Catherine McCONVILL MS MCCONVILL. (Catherine McCONVILL MS MCCONVILL was born about 1785.) John next married William McGRATH, son of Michael McGRATH and Elanora McGINN, in 1631.1 2 3 (William McGRATH was born about 1846.) Marriage Notes: "His (Adam Gordon's ) eldest son Sir John Gordon second Laird of Park etc. married Hellen Sibbald daughter to Sir James Sibbald of Ramkiller in Fifeshire with whom he begat three sons and three daughters, viz. his eldest son Sir John Gordon of Park and Cluny, his second son Sir George Gordon of Edenglassie Invermarkie Auchinhandoch Carnousie and Crannoch, his 3 d son Mr David Gordon of Achoynanie, he had also a natural son Patrick Gordon of Rhynie..." |
