Janet was aged 41 years according to the 1851 census. She lived with her husband, Thomson, in Hutchesontown at 19 Crown Street, with a 'cousin' and six lodgers.

In her husband's death certificate of 1885, Thomson Tweedly was recorded as the 'widower of Jessie Sinclair'. 2


Janet married Thomson TWEEDLEY, son of Peter TWEEDLEY and Elizabeth FOSTER, on 16 November 1838 in Glasgow, Scotland.1 (Thomson TWEEDLEY was born about 1811 in County Donegal, Ireland 3 and died 1 August 1885 at 5.30 am in 167 Govan Street, Glasgow, Scotland 4.). The cause of his death was bronchitis over 28 days.
