QUIGLEY, John ²

  General Notes:

When Robert Quigley married Margaret McKay in 1861 one of the witnesses was John Quigley. It was in all probability this John Quigley.

John Quigley was not married to his son's mother, but gave him his name. He was recorded in the 1865 death certificate of Robert as a 'coal miner'. John was able to sign the death notice of his child.

John married Susan DONALDSON in Common Law Marriage. (Susan DONALDSON was born about 1840.)

  Marriage Notes:

There seems to have been no regular marriage between John Quigley and Susan Donaldson, but their children were recognised by both parents.

John next married John QUIGLY, son of Robert QUIGLEY and Margaret McKAY, on 30 Oct 1442.¹ (John QUIGLY was born on 15 Feb 1864 in New Kilpatrick, Dunbartonshire, Scotland ⁴.)

  Marriage Notes:

"Isabella, married, as his second wife, to Francis I., Duke of Brittany, 30 October 1442"
