Maria married George Washington WILSON Photographer, son of Sergeant Major George WILSON of the Royal Artillery and Elspet HERD.1 (George Washington WILSON Photographer was christened on 7 Feb 1823 in Alvah Parish, Banffshire, Scotland and died 9 March 1893 at 8.45 am in Queen's Cross, Aberdeen, Scotland.). The cause of his death was epileptic convulsions over 6 hours/epilepsy over 8 years.

"He (Malcolm Fleming) married, dispensation dated 26 February 1524-25, they being within the third degree of consanguinity, (contract dated 27 January same year), Janet Stewart, natural daughter of King James IV. by Isabel (see note above) Stewart, Countess of Bothwell, daughter of James, third Earl of Buchan. Her tocher was 2500 merks. She survived him, was served heir to her terce as relict on 2 November 1547, went to France in 1548 in charge of the child Queen, whose education she superintended, but was superseded by Madam Parois, an extreme Catholic."
