John Flanagan's birth certificate of 1855 was the fuller version used in that year that gave additional information about his family. The informant of the birth was his father Michael Flanagan who was present where the birth occurred. ²

John married Constantine QUIGLEY, son of James QUIGLEY and Ann O'HARA. (Constantine QUIGLEY was born possibly about 1805 in Ireland ^{3 4} and died after 3 Apr 1881 ⁵.)
