COLLINS, James ^{1 2 3}

  General Notes:

The birth certificate of 1870 in the parish of Dalmellington Ayrshire of James Collins recorded his parents as James Collins Furnacefiller and Rose Collins M.S.King.His father was the informant of the child's birth and made his X mark. The year and place of marriage was noted as 1866 Kilbirnie.

James was aged 11 years when recorded by the 1881 census for Cambusnethan where he lived with his family. He had been born in 'Dalmillington, Ayrshire'. He was a scholar.

The 1891 census for Cambusnethan recorded James Collins as aged 21 years and born at 'Waterside Ayrshire'. He was a coal miner and unmarried.

Rose's son, James Collins, of 36 Bartonhall Row, Waterloo, was the informant of her death in Cambusnethan parish in 1920, signing his name before the registrar on 10 January at Wishaw. ^{1 4}

James married Mary COLLINS, daughter of James COLLINS Furnaceman and Rose KING.^{5 6} (Mary COLLINS was born in 1881 in Newmains, Lanarkshire, Scotland ⁷.)

  Marriage Notes:

"Wm. Forbes, son to Malcom Forbes, married Leith, daughter to the Laird of Barns .... and after the deceass of Barns' daughter, the sd. Wm. married Hay, daughter to the Earle Erroll, who did bear to him Arthur an Isobell Forbesses."
