   Cause of her death was gastric influenza over 10 days.

   Other names for Helen were FLANNERY, Helen and McGONIGALE, Ellen.²

  General Notes:

Ellen McGonigale, aged 18 years and born in Mossend Lanarkshire, was the eldest of the five children recorded by the 1901 census for Holytown, living with her parents there.

In her death certificate it was recorded that Helen was 'widow of James Flannery Life Assurance Agent' and thate she was aged 56 years. Both of her parents were deceased.

J. Lowdon Kydd MB ChB certified the cause of death.

Michael J. Flannery, son of the deceased, who was present where her death occurred, gave notice before James Paterson, registrar, at Holytown on 4 January 1940.

Helen married Michael McGUNNIGALE Iron puddler & steel worker, son of Michael McGUNNIGALE Stone mason or farmer and Mary McNULTY, on 16 Feb 1738 in Banchory Ternan parish, Kincardineshire, Scotland.¹ (Michael McGUNNIGALE Iron puddler & steel worker was born about 1855 in Ireland and died 10 December 1921 at 3.15 am in 100 Clydesdale, Holytown District, Lanarkshire, Scotland.). The cause of his death was acute pneumonia over 4 days.

"John Burnett of Elrick. He was served heir general, 17 September, 1737, to his father, Andrew Burnett of Elrick. He married Margaret, daughter of Strachan of Balgall, afterwards wife of Sir Arthur Forbes, Bart, of Craigievar. In 1742, he was Dean of Guild, and in 1744, baillie of Aberdeen. He had issue .... Mr. John Burnett died in 1748. The Aberdeen Journal of the period thus records his death : -

'John Burnett of Elrick, late one of the baillies of the city, died November ----, 1748, aged 37.'
