  General Notes:

An entry for the 1871 census for Cambusnethan recorded, as the eldest child of James and Rose Collins 'Ann Collins' aged 6 years. This is almost certainly a mishearing and misreporting on the part of the enumerator of the name 'Owen Collins'.

Owen Collins was the eldest of five children of James and Rose Collins living at 32 Brown Street, Cambusnethan, as recorded by the 1881 census. He was 13 years old and had been born 'Stevenson, Ayrshire'. He was a scholar.

The 1891 census for Cambusnethan recorded Owen Collins living in his family home at 6 Marshall Street, Wishaw. He was aged 22 years and unmarried. He was a brakesman, but unemployed at the time. 2 5

Owen married Rose Ann COLLINS, daughter of James COLLINS Furnaceman and Rose KING.1 (Rose Ann COLLINS was born about 1878 in Newmains, Lanarkshire, Scotland 2.)

  Marriage Notes:

"James, sixteenth Lord Forbes .... married, first, 1715, Mary, daughter of Alexander, third Lord Forbes of Pitsligo, widow of John Forbes, younger of Monymusk"
