She was a scholar and had been born in Newmains. 1 Mary married John McGONEGAL, son of William McGUNNIGAL and Mary Ann McNAMEE.2 (John McGONEGAL was born on 6 Jun 1858 in Old Monkland, Lanarkshire, Scotland and was christened on 27 Jun 1858 in St Margaret's RC Chapel, Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland 3.) Marriage Notes: "Wm. Forbes, son to Malcom Forbes, married Leith, daughter to the Laird of Barns, who did bear to him John Forbes and Alex. Forbes, with some daughters, one married to the Laird of Glask Burnet; ane oy'r. to Andrew Dortis, burges in Abd. ; ane oy'r. to John Lamb, burges yr. ; and after his deceass to Mr. Thomas Davidsone" Mary next married James COLLINS, son of James COLLINS Furnaceman and Rose KING.2 4 (James COLLINS was born 31 May 1870 at 6.00 am in 16 Greenhill Row, Dalmellington, Ayrshire, Scotland 5.) Marriage Notes: "Wm. Forbes, son to Malcom Forbes, married Leith, daughter to the Laird of Barns .... and after the deceass of Barns' daughter, the sd.
