   Other names for Ann were LENNIS, Ann and LYNAS, Annie.

  General Notes:

According to the family's Poor Law application of June 1879 Annie was aged 9 years, not at school, and resident at 'Church Place at St Joseph's' . This was possibly the St Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in North Woodside Road.


In 1881 when her mother claimed, Annie was 11/12 years old and probably at school.


In 1881 a woman called Ellen Lennis was recorded by the census, boarding with her two teenage children in a dwelling at 117 Maitland Street, in the Milton district of Glasgow. Ellen was a widow and Irish born. The younger of her two children boarding with her was her daughter, Ann Lennis. The census entry recorded her as Glasgow born and aged 13 years. She was a scholar.


In 1887 the Poor Law inspector notes Ann was single with an illegitimate child. She was a pottery worker.


In her death certificate of 1894 Ann Lynas was described as a 'pauper formerly a cleaner'. Her usual residence was given as 63 Middleton Place Glasgow. She was a single woman aged 26 years. 3 4 5 6

G. Roy Fortune LRCP & S Ed. certified the cause of Ann's death.

The City Poorhouse Governor's clerk, John McPherson, notified the register of Ann's death on 2 April 1894 at Glasgow. The registrar was G. Millar Buchanan.


Ann married Bridget CORKEY on 13 Jan 1719 in Saint Nicholas Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland.1 (Bridget CORKEY was born about 1865.)
