The marriage took place according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church. Robert Paterson, RC clergyman, married the couple. The witnesses were William Corker of 34 Viewfield Avenue Blantyre and Mary Conway of 105 Calder Street Blantyre.

Peter was a repairer in a coal pit. He was aged 45 years and a bachelor. His residence was recorded as 51 Knightswood Terrace, Blantyre. Both of his parents were living.

Elizabeth was an unmarried woman of 43 years, of 17 Broompark Road Blantyre. Only her mother's name was noted; she was deceased.

The marriage was registered on the last day of December 1937, the registrar signing being Sam Currie.
