The 1851 census for Barony parish recorded Mary Vallilie and her two very small children living in Garscube Lane Glasgow with her husband, his parents and his two sisters. Her age was 24 years and her birthplace Ireland.

Mary Vallely, like her husband, was recorded by the 1861 census for Hutchesontown as aged 34 years and born in Ireland. She had five children to care for ranging in age from 12 years to 2 years. ^{4 6}

(Bernard VALLELY was born in Ireland ⁴, christened on 30 May 1825 in Coalisland RC parish, County Tyrone, Ireland ⁸ and died on 3 Feb 1880 in 58 Hospital Street, Glasgow, Scotland ^{2 4}.). The cause of his death was bronchitis.
