Other names for Catharine were MILLIGAN, Catherine,4 MULLIGAN, Catherine and QUIGLEY, Catherine.5 General Notes: When Rosanna, her daughter, was born in 1855, Catherine's husband informed the registrar. In the birth certificate, Catherine's birth place was recorded as Enniskillen, Ireland. Her age was noted as 20 years. Rosanna was her first child. 6 Catharine married John McGHEE, son of Hugh McGHEE and Mary VEITCH.1 2 (John McGHEE was born on 26 Feb 1867 in Loudoun, Ayrshire, Scotland.) Marriage Notes: "The last above named Hugh dying, he was succeeded by his eldest son Hugh, eighth of that name, and tenth person succeeding in the familie, infeft in the lands holden of the king, upon the penult of December 1544. He married Katharen Falconer, daughter to David Falconer of Halkertoune, and Dunbar, of the familie of Conzie and Kilboyack, his spouse. He was contracted in his fathers tyme, in the year 1523, January 31, with Janet Falconer, daughter to the said David ; and by ane after condescendence it was agreed, that either he should mary Janet or Katharen Falconers, which of the two should be most expedient or speedfull ; and he did mary Katharen." Catharine next married Edward QUIGLEY, son of Edward QUIGLEY and Rose KELLY, on 25 Oct 1853 in St Andrew's RC Chapel, Great Clyde Street, Glasgow, Scotland.3 (Edward QUIGLEY was born on 3 Apr 1821 7, christened on 8 Apr 1821 in St Mirin's RC Chapel, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland 7 and died 8 November 1896 at 10.45.am in 145 Crown Street, Glasgow G1, Scotland.). The cause of his death was uraemia and urethral obstruction. Marriage Notes: An OPR proclamation of banns was dated 9 October 1853 in Glasgow. 8 |
