The 1861 census for St Cuthbert's Parish, Edinburgh, recorded Catherine Nisbet, her husband and their two sons, living at Dean Haugh. Catherine had been born in Ferry Den, Forfarshire, and was 22 years of age.

Catherine married Thomas NISBET Millwright, son of Alexander NISBET Mason and Ann REDPATH, on 11 Mar 1859 in Edinburgh Parish, Edinburgh, Scotland.
